1. Serial number & Odometer.

The first step in the process is checking the serial number and odometer on the tractor you are examining. Once you have received the proper consecutive number, you will be able to check the year, make, and type of the farm tractor. 2. Overall condition.

4. Cab

When going through the cab the first thing you will see is the status. If it is a well-maintained unit, the cabs will usually be clean with no to small damage within. In a tractor, there will be multiple options inside of the cab. You need to check transmission type, displays, hydraulic levers, activations etc. 

5. Power take-off (PTO)

Farm work can not be performed by a single machine. If you want a tractor for farming then you should also get some tractor attachment to do the farm jobs. Main tractor attachments like grain carts, manure spreaders, augers etc. are powered by the mechanical drive PTO. Ensure a functioning PTO shaft and the PTO power specifications to meet up your need. Startup the tractor, turn on the PTO and check for a smooth turning action. PTO will help you get better fuel economy in the field. Also, check for the number of hydraulic holes, and its condition for any leaks or damages.

6. Undercarriage & suspension.

Check the Tractor rubber tires or tracks, see the size and quality of tread. See the rims for any cracks or scarcities, if find any then avoid to buy one. Look all the rubber/tears in the track of the tractor missing as rubber/tears can be costly for you.
